Ialso am having this issue with the bluetooth xbox one controller but i did found a work around for me but it requires you to have the controller wired. Best method i did was use my old samsung s7 edge charger cable as a wired connection. I am not familiar with the actually name of the USB connector. #14.
Aquick Google search would suggest using xbox360ce, which emulates the 360 controller (AC1 was terrible at detecting anything else). There's also fixed in the Steam forum if you're using the XB1 controller, but the first option helped me the first time I played through it. How. Its an ini and dll.

Iwant to play the game again, but with a Xbox controller. I remember that there was a bug with XB1 controllers resulting in a screen-shake and the camera movement having a vibration. This was back in 2016ish.

Ifso, please note that the only officially supported gamepad is the Xbox 360 one. That said, I can recommend from my own experience using Steam's Big Picture Mode to force the game to think your DS4 is a 360 pad. For more specific instructions on how to do this, since it's not something official from us, I'd recommend reaching out to Steam
